Guardian Angels

Guardian Angels, They say when you have a near-death experience that you can leave your body and see the world around you. In my life, I have had too many near-death experiences that one person would want to have. But every time I was faced with the challenge of life I would always see my guardian angel. It wouldn't be one of those moments like the movies lead them onto be, Maybe a better word would be a glance . I would always catch that glance of her right there with me and I could smell her long after she was gone.

My angel is my grandmother. The first time I had a close call with the end of my life was when I was nineteen. I was in a very dark place and made stupid decisions constantly. This being one of my stupidest.

I decided to go out with a bunch of friends and ride around the dirt roads in our small town, drinking beers. We weren't two minutes into a long stretch of dirt road when the vehicle hydroplaned and flipped three times landing us in a canal. No, I wasn't wearing a seat-belt.Yes, I was stupid.Yes, I was hurt. I had to jump out a busted window and swim to safety nearly drowning myself in the process. My arm was cut wide open and I was bleeding bad. My friend wrapped my arm and ran for help. I lay there bleeding when I heard a voice tell me "get up or your going to pass out". Adrenaline rushed through my body and I was up and running for help. A truck turned onto the road and I flagged them down. They called 911 and I was put on the back of an ambulance. I caught a glance of her than with me on that ride and I knew I was going to be ok. Sixteen stitches and seven staples later and I am here. Wearing my seat-belt and a nasty scar.

My second experience happened this year when I gave birth to our little baby girl. The whole labor was a struggle. My epidural dropped my blood pressure dramatically and my baby's heart rate was really low. I was so scared .With a magnificent team of nurses and doctors, they were able to stabilize me and the baby.

I decided to continue with the labor naturally and opted out on a C-section . It was a 26-hour labor. When it was time to push, I was exhausted. The baby's cord was wrapped around her neck and I needed to get her out. Fear filled me. I can not explain the fear .It was absolutely horrifying. That's when I saw her. Standing behind the group of nurses helping bring my child into this world. She was there clear as day. I knew my baby was going to be ok. I knew I was going to be ok. My guardian angel was there and she was protecting me just the way she did before.

Whatever your belief. If it's heaven or hell. If you believe in a spiritual realm that can't be seen by the human eye. Whatever is next after this life. I won't fear it . I have seen miracles and have been given two. I know something else lays on the other side of life and I can't wait to meet her again.
